The “Solar Roof” S&P Bakery Factory Energy Saving Project involves installing solar roof panels of 510 kW on the factory roof area of 2,700 m2 to generate electricity at 720,000 units per year which can reduce the carbon footprint of the business sector at 390 tons CO2 per year or equivalent to planting 15,000 trees. It is estimated to decrease electricity cost by 90,550 USD per year.

S&P Syndicate Public Company Limited has been operating a restaurant and bakery business for 44 years. Currently, the company operates 469 branches domestically and 25 restaurants aboard in 6 countries. S&P has been a pioneer and leader in the cake and bakery industry. The company places great importance on the quality of its ingredients, freshness, taste, including the improvement of operation systems.

The company has always been aware of the importance of environmental conservation in many ways. It is committed to running a food and bakery business with no harmful effects on the environment and surrounding communities and also on reducing costs leading to higher level of production efficiency. S&P installed the ‘Solar Roof’ on our main factory and this has improved our energy efficiency by producing clean energy. It has vast potential to not only save electricity costs, but also reduce CO2 emissions compared to electricity generated by fuels.

The company plans to extend the Solar Roof to other factories in the future. Moving forward, S&P hopes to develop other innovative products and services to ensure sustainable development and we seek to grow on our principles of Quality, Value and Virtue.
